My very first blog post

When blogging first became popular I was excited to see what all the hype is about. I am always a sucker for the latest fad. But I didn't have any friends with blogs and felt like a voyer reading strangers' blogs (it has taken me awhile to realize that that is kind of the point of blogs, people wanting to share themselves with strangers). Still wanting to be part of the latest blogging craze I signed up to create a blog, but never even made one post. I couldn't think of anything interesting to write about that other people would want to read. I soon determined that the blogging world would have to continue on without me.

While I have nothing noteworthy to publish for strangers, I had a burning need to connect with faraway friends. So I started a forum for myself and my 3 best friends who all reside in different states. That soon evolved to us joining Facebook and reconnecting with classmates that we hadn't talked to in 15 years. I became a Facebook addict! I was very shy in highschool, but found that the removal of face-to-face interactions gave me courage and allowed me to talked to classmates I had previously never spoken to before. These new friends are now encouraging me to blog and twitter, and take advantage of everything that the internet has to offer. And so I begin my blogging journey with this my first ever post!
